Description
Barrow BC are looking to reframe the housing led regeneration opportunities that Marina Village can deliver in the context of how this will support Barrow to realise its strategic ambitions. The brief is to: o Initially convene a session of strategic partners to re-set an ambitious vision for Marina Village and the surrounding Buccleuch area in early March 2022 o Following on reset of ambitious vision develop a mixed use masterplan that connects Marina Village with the town centre by end March 2022 o Explore the opportunities for Smart, energy opportunities, green and blue infrastructure o Explore the possibility of broadening out the scope and size of the housing led regeneration area to capture additional housing and other related site uses for under-utilised land within the north and south of the site in the Buccleuch dock area o Maximise the waterfront potential to its full to make it an iconic statement piece with visitor economy in mind as well as dwelling opportunities o Explore the type of housing infrastructure that would work and the possible sustainable operating models for the future. Plus, ensure appropriate connectivity and community infrastructure is in place. The expected outcome is that Barrow BC will have a compelling ambitious vision which will also set out through a visual mixed use masterplan what the site and associated area can deliver. This should be presented in a format which will provide the evidence base for investment by developers, Homes England and other partners to realise the sites potential and contribute to Barrow's transformation. The fee is no more than £10,000. Barrow Council (the Council) would like to thank you for your interest in this opportunity. This document contains the questions that you will need to complete and return, in addition to all supporting information about the Council's requirements and the evaluation process.
