Description
The Services being procured are for Landscape Architectural, Civil and Electrical Engineering, Planning and principle designer services for the design of a 20 acre extension to Lentons Lane Cemetry CV1 2AA. By 2021 the burial space in Coventry will be exhausted. The Councils vision is to extend the Lentons Lane Cemetery (LLC) to include the agricultural land that bounds the LLC. As Lentons Lane will become the main burial area for the City, the proposal is to build on the scheme delivered in 2015. This will include the provision of surface drains to move water to a retention bed for natural filtration. This will eliminate the possibility of flooding issues currently being experienced in older sections of the cemetery. The current section allocated to the Muslim faith will be full within the next 6-8 months, with the surrounding free church areas hitting capacity within the next 2 years. This scheme will introduce enough burial spaces to allow provisions for the city of all ethnicities for the next 30 years. Quantity surveyor services will be undertaken under a separate appointment and as such we request a lead designer to provide following services: o Landscape Architect (Lead) o Civil & Electrical Engineering o Planning o Principle Designer The lead consultant will be expected to provide advice on any additional surveys required. The construction value is anticipated to be: ?1.5 - ?1.8Million The key responsibilities of the appointment will be to; o Work closely with bereavement services to refine the outline brief o Develop a masterplan for the site up to equivalent RIBA Stage 4 o Obtain planning permission o Continue with a detailed design throughout equivalent RIBA Stages 4-7, assisting with procurement of the principle contractor o Liaise directly with Environmental Agency and other regulatory bodies throughout the process Key Drivers/Objectives o Complete a masterplan and design of the site ready for construction ahead of free church plot capacity 1-2 years. o Prioritise the construction of the new Muslim burial spaces before the plots reach capacity, estimated to be between 6-8 Months. o Alleviate the existing site drainage issues. o Maximise the site space to secure burial capacity for all ethnicities for the next 30 years
