Description
In December 2020, Worcester City Council was successful in obtaining £17.9m of Future High Street Funding (FHSF) towards regeneration of the Blackfriars area of the City Centre from MHCLG. With match funding the total investment will be close to £30m. The objective of the FHSF programme is to create a vibrant leisure and entertainment quarter adjacent to the high-quality primary retail core providing residents and visitors with an additional attraction and extending the City Centre's overall vibrancy. This will be delivered by transforming key buildings into new leisure and entertainment offers, transforming public realm and connectivity, and creating new event and other spaces. At its heart are proposals to transform the northern part of the city centre into a diverse leisure, cultural, entertainment and residential quarter. This will be led by the conversion and redevelopment of the historic Scala Theatre and Corn Exchange into a new performance theatre space. The Council is inviting tenders for a Building Design Service for the Scala Theatre. The scope of this 'Open' invitation to tender is for: • Architectural Services with other roles and services • Principal Designer (in accordance with CDM Regulations Please see the procurement documents for further information The Council is using the e-procurement portal known as the Proactis Pro-Contract portal https://procontract.due-north.com to conduct this procurement exercise. To gain access to the procurement documents, bidders will need to register their company details at the above website. Once registered, bidders will be emailed a log-in and password which will allow them to gain access to the procurement documents. Bidders will need to search for the invitation under Worcester City Council and then electronically submit an expression of interest and follow the online instructions to view the procurement documents.
